Looking for an Army Painter primer that does the metal job for you? Plate Mail Metal is a spray primer and gunmetal-steel basecoat in one can, so knights, tanks and armoured infantry get their steel in seconds instead of an evening. It’s matt enough that other acrylic paints cover it cleanly, yet metallic enough to leave bare on chainmail, blades and battle-worn hulls.

Why it’s good

• Primer and colour spray in one, for metal, plastic and resin miniatures
• Fast-drying acrylic spray with a precision nozzle for even coverage that keeps fine detail crisp
• A hardened-steel finish that Warpaints and other acrylics sit over happily
• Ready-made groundwork for chipping, rust and battle damage, and it drinks up a dark wash for instant depth

Base a whole regiment of armoured infantry in the time it’d take to hand-paint one, then let a wash do the shading for you.
