The one that started it all. Before Wing, before Nu, before any of the mobile suits that followed there was the RX-78-2, Amuro Ray’s suit from the original 1979 series, and it’s still the perfect first Gunpla. Bandai’s Entry Grade engineering means a satisfying snap-fit build with no glue, no paint and no tools, and you still end up with that unmistakable silhouette on the shelf.

What’s in the box

• Pre-coloured, snap-fit sprues no painting required to look the part
• Simple, beginner-friendly assembly with clear instructions
• Good points of articulation for dynamic display poses

Build experience

• Clean part separation means barely any visible seam lines out of the box
• Straightforward enough for a first-ever kit, quick enough for a relaxed evening
• Solid joints that hold a pose without drooping

Build it stock for an instant classic on the shelf, or use it as your practice canvas for panel lining and paint once you’ve caught the bug.

Snap-fit and paint-free, straight out of the box. Add a set of Vallejo Mecha Color paints and a panel-liner when you’re ready to take it further.
